TODAY IS WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20, 2019 – DAY 5 ODD

It’s Amnesty week in the Library so bring back your late books and you will not be fined!

Attention all Juniors! The Junior Carnival Date has been changed to May 11th. Please mark your calendars! There will also be a mandatory Junior Carnival meeting after school today in the Commons. See you there!

All National Art Honor Society members must attend the meeting right after school today in Room 2103 to discuss the upcoming Induction Ceremony.

Photography Club will meet right after school today in Room 1101.

The Spanish Club will meet right after school today in Room 2202. Attendance is mandatory.
All are welcome!

There will be a short St. Baldrick’s Club meeting right after school today in Room 2312 to finalize jobs and information for event on March 23rd. Still taking volunteers to shave/chop, bake or work at the event. All new and current members please attend.

Tonight at 7:00 PM in the SSHS Auditorium, Dr. Stephen Dewey will be giving a presentation about the Effects of Vaping and Other Addictive Behaviors on the Adolescent Brain. Speak with your Health and Physical Education Teachers to find out about extra credit opportunities for attending.

Help celebrate world Down Syndrome day on Thursday, March 21st by wearing crazy and colorful socks.

The Biology Club will meet right after school on Thursday, March 21st in Room 1406. All are welcome!

The Cultural Cooking Club will be holding a mandatory club meeting right after school on Thursday, March 21st in Room 2327. The meeting will be brief, and we will be discussing our contribution to the St. Baldrick’s event. Anyone who will be participating must attend. See Mrs. Goro in the English Office if you cannot make the meeting but would like to participate

Attention all Liberty Partnerships Students: Any student attending the LPP field trip to Hofstra and the Cradle of Aviation Museum on March 21st, please meet in the Main Lobby at 7:45 AM. The bus will be leaving promptly at 8:00 AM See Ms. Knorr or Ms. O’Brien with any questions

If you enjoy poetry, music and food, than come to the annual Context Open Mic Night fundraiser on Thursday night, March 21st at 7:30 PM in Room 1207. A $7.00 donation is requested.

Come support the RVC St. Baldrick’s Fundraising event for childhood cancer research on Saturday, March 23rd from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the St. Agnes Parish Center. Still time to sign up to shave your head or chop your ponytail. Pre-register at St. Baldricks.org. Event is free and open to all. Inspiring speakers, head-shaving/ponytail chopping, live music, raffles, games, food and more – all to raise money to help find cures for all Pediatric Cancers. The RVC Summer Program is once again looking for High School Workers. The Summer Program will be held at Hewitt School from July 8th through August 8th. Classes are Monday – Thursday from 9 AM – 12 PM. If you are interested in working the Summer Program, please stop by the Community Education Office in Room 1307 after school to pick up an application. Applications will NOT be given out during the day. Limited applications are available and are due back by April 1st.
